SYNOPSIS
History Illuminates the Future: My Museum Story, a documentary jointly produced by the five BRICS countries, launched at the BRICS summit 2023 shows how "local museums" can reflect cultural diversity in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Five of the most distinctive museums in BRICS countries reveal the development of their civilizations, as well as cultural exchanges between them. Seeking answers from history, and kindling hope for the future, museums connect the past, present and future.
The documentaries tell stories of Inhotim Contemporary Arts Museum (Brazil), Konstantin E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics (Russia), City Palace Museum (India), Liangzhu Museum (China) and Heart of Cape Town Museum (South Africa).

We take you on a journey of the City Palace Museum, a symbol of rich culture and craftsmanship that stands tall with over 450 years of history through the human stories of four people associated with it.
DIRECTOR'S NOTE
When I stepped into the City Palace Museum for the first time, it felt like I was transported to an era gone by. The passion with which the staff keep the history alive enamoured me which our film Palace of Dreams also speaks about. It was great collaborating with fellow BRICS Filmmakers and bringing stories of each of our countries forward. Through these stories, we realise that there is so much to learn from our past for a better future.
